Brittnie Hart

Success Story

Brittnie Hart is a 41-year-old office manager for an insurance company in Lubbock, Texas. She enjoys attending her daughter’s cheer events, working, going out to eat, and working out.

Recently, while at work, Brittnie fell. EMS was called, and she was taken to the hospital where she was diagnosed with a stroke. She had no warning signs or symptoms before it happened.

After receiving initial care, Brittnie chose Trustpoint Rehabilitation Hospital of Lubbock (TRHL) for rehabilitation because her daughter works there. TRHL holds a national certification in stroke rehabilitation from The Joint Commission, demonstrating the hospital’s commitment to achieving better outcomes for stroke patients.

When she arrived, Brittnie was unable to say her name, recall the year, walk, or move her right arm. She worked with the hospital’s the interdisciplinary healthcare team, who created a personalized treatment plan to help her regain function and independence. She regularly participated in physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

“The therapists have been amazing,” she says. “Rachel, my occupational therapist; Alexis, a physical therapy assistant; and Erin, my speech therapist, are phenomenal.”

After 46 days at the hospital, Brittnie was discharged home. She now can walk, use her right side, and communicate. She is looking forward to seeing her family and pets, returning to work, and watching her daughter cheer.

“I’m so glad to be going home,” she says.
