Bryan Sutton
Success Story
Fifty-year-old Bryan Sutton from Lubbock, Texas, works in window and door manufacturing. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and reading. His life recently took an unexpected turn while out of state when he began experiencing numbness in his legs, which radiated upward in his body. He went to a nearby hospital, where he was diagnosed with a stroke and transferred to a stroke center.
Following his initial medical treatment, Bryan needed specialized rehabilitative care to advance his recovery. A close friend and physician encouraged Bryan to return to Lubbock to receive “the best care” at Trustpoint Rehabilitation Hospital of Lubbock (TRHL). Bryan was flown back to Lubbock and admitted to TRHL, where his goal was to walk out of the hospital without using a walker. The interdisciplinary healthcare team worked closely with Bryan and his family, creating an individualized treatment plan to help him reach this milestone.
“Therapy was really good,” Bryan says. “The team was always focused and prepared. I didn’t have one bad experience; even the food was great.”
After two weeks, Bryan reached his goal and walked independently out of the hospital, returning home.
